Total Quality Management (TQM) is a management approach aiming for continuous quality improvement of an organization’s overall performance. The primary objective is to eliminate waste, increase efficiency, and improve quality.
As an ISO 13485:2016 & AS9100 registered facility, Geater Machining and Manufacturing, Co. (GMM) is committed to a process approach in all of its functions. This approach ensures compliance to customer requirements and delivery demands. In order to ensure the quality of the products produced; GMM utilizes high accuracy Bridge Coordinate Measuring Machines, Portable Scanning Arms, and high-definition Video Measurement systems, for dimensional verification at all stages of manufacturing. All equipment has offline programming options available using 3D CAD models.
Geater’s quality is evident in every step of the process including: control plans, process FEMAs, flow charts, 3D renderings, manufacturing review, and robust document management program (GOLD Link).

In order to ensure the quality standards of the products produced, Geater utilizes six high accuracy Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) for dimensional verification at all stages of manufacturing. All five machines are operating PCDMIS CAD software along with off-line programming capabilities and are equipped with Renishaw TP20 touch probing systems.
Geater also utilizes a Planar P150.35 2D Scanner with a measuring capacity of 39”x 59”. The Planar is a 2D inspection machine that allows Geater to quickly verify products by performing 2D inspection and CAD comparisons in seconds. The Planar is equipped with InspecVision software and off-line programming capabilities.
This dedication to quality assurance is evident with 35-40 FAIs completed on a weekly basis and has made Geater a Certified Supplier to Collins Aerospace Divisions, with numerous awards for quality and delivery performance.
AS9100 is a certification standard for organizations involved in the design, production, and installation of aerospace products, including parts, components, and assemblies. It is based on the ISO 9001 quality management system requirements but includes additional specifications for the aerospace industry. The certification process involves an independent verification of an organization’s quality management system against the AS9100 standard requirements by a third-party certification body.
ISO 13485:2016 is the internationally recognized standard for quality management systems in the medical device industry. The standard outlines the requirements for a quality management system in the design, production, storage, installation, and servicing of medical devices.
ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) is a set of U.S. government regulations that control the export and transfer of defense-related technology and services. These regulations are enforced by the U.S. State Department’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC). A company that engages in the business of manufacturing, exporting, or distributing defense articles, furnishing defense services, or acting as a broker needs to be ITAR registered.
